MISSION
Ruffled Feathers Parrot Sanctuary/Rescue Inc. in Louisville, Ky was founded to take in unwanted, neglected, seriously ill, or abused parrots and give them a chance at enjoying the rest of their long happy lives, with their best interests in mind. To rehabilitate those parrots that can be rehabilitated and place them in permanent homes or to provide a sanctuary for those parrots who are unsuitable or ineligible for adoption. We further offer support and understanding to those persons who have found themselves in a position whereby they are facing the hardship of surrendering a bird. The vast majority of our parrots have come from bad situations but plenty of them have come from a loving caring environment. The process of living can present many unexpected changes and life could happen to any one of us. We work heavily in the area educating the public about the behavior, emotional, physical, and medical needs of these magnificent long lived creatures. With the support of our great parrot community we have been able to do some amazing things helping these magnificent creatures and we hope to continue to do so for a long time to come.
