Rating:5 of 5 - Excellent
Pros:Easy to track calorie intake, less food waste, high quality ingredients
Cons:Potential for boredom with diet
Comments:My male macaw had some weight gain with another brand’s fruit-flavored pellets, and my avian-certified vet said to switch him over to Harrison’s for a variety of reasons. Transitioning was painful, but worth it. Because my female military macaw took to her high potency quickly, my male catalina took about another week before he was fully transitioned. He wanted nothing to do with the high potency, though. Once he got the pepper version he wouldn’t touch the high potency. The change in his energy level, demeanor, playfulness, feather strength, etc. all improved fairly quickly. His weight dropped easily, and safely. A scale helped us a whole bunch. :). And it is so easy to hide these pellets for foraging purposes in a way that will allow him to retrieve it without it falling to the floor.

Rating:4 of 5 - Good
Pros:The only food my macaw can eat
